Digital Technologies is a new area for us all. It’s nothing to be scared of but there are a few things to get used to.
Chances are that your students will be better at gaming than you. Minecraft, for example, is incredibly popular and it’s likely they’ve been playing it for a while now. If you’re not comfortable with the game, the best way to deal with it is to position the students as experts.
Sometimes the experts in your class might not have been outgoing in their knowledge in other curriculum areas. So for them to have an opportunity to shine here is a win for you and for their self-esteem.
Students can act as experts in their own class and can also help and support younger students.
Position students to choose the game. Being open and flexible allows the students to choose the best way for them to show their meaning.
